What is the best salt out there
What do you use
I use RSCP and have done for the last 2 years.
Chris Durkin did a review of the main salts available in the last few days.

do you get red algae or do you use a buffer
simple answer is...... none is perfect. but find the one that works for you and stick with it. this will depend on what you keep and your system needs.
all have pluses and minuses. I'm going to try royal nature next time. also used rdcpro and tropic marin pro reef... out of the two I like the clean mix of the tropic marin, but it does have lower kh levels.
d&d came out tops imo on the tests chris did.
using the d/d h20pro+ but getting green algae with it now. po4 0.04 and nitrates are 0ppm.my tank does not like the d/d salt.
Had the algae problems with Red Sea coral Pro, so switched to Seachem. No more algae problems, and corals are growing like mad.
yep was using seachem to. i think i go back to it when i used up the d/d.
Im getting my new tank soon and wondering what salt to use!!! currently using RSCP but not sure about the high levels.....
Might try Royal Nature next
i use RSCP but not that happy with it iam thinking of using royal nature next time
if you tank been ok with the rscp then uses it on the new tank.what it is that my tank been running for some time now and it does not like the d/d salt when i uses it i get algae problems it is one off them things.
I use tmc bio actif
Never heard of bio activ used both tmc pro reef and am starting to use RSCP
Used to use Kent but the last 9 months been a RSCP user with no intention to change any time soon.
Just started using ATI Coral Ocean Plus, dKH = 10 on a new mix so quite happy with that. Was using the D&D but Mg was well over 1500 but dKH around 6.
the one i have now(d/d) the mg is 1360ppm and the dkh is 10 the calcium is 460ppm i see what you meen with the salt up down up down.thinking of go to a new one.
ATI Coral Ocean Plus Reef Salt been looking at this to and you put the calcium in to get it on 450 or so and its in a bag with it.
Been switching between D+D and Royal Nature. Reef tank looking its best since i started using these 2.
The Coral Ocean Plus is the dry mix without seperate Ca supplement as the base mix is already fairly high in Ca. The one your referring to is the wet mix which is just called Coral Ocean.
Suppose it depends on the types of test kits used too!
