The Salty Box Forums Has New Owners

Just noticed that I am no longer banned again, very strange and wonder who did this.
Those that no me, are fully aware that in all the years on here never had a go at anyone.
Yes was here from almost the beginning, and have seen change come and go.
In what was a blink of an eye, Brian destroyed the forum.
I do not hold grudges but to see years of work gone, is something that can not be ignored.
Also I wonder if Brent w was aware of the situation, when you purchased this forum.
This is not being negative or winging, these are facts and dear to my heart.
If you Brent want to contact me, feel free nothing to hide here.
Also if I end up being banned again for this post, so be it.

Most probably done by the fun police, because you were having fun? Hopefully the new owner will welcome some freedom of expression and has a good sense of humour

1) I unbanned everyone but no one logged in to check.
2) I didn't destroy the forum it was destroyed before I came along and I put my hand in my pocket to save it and no one like yourself was interested in saving the forum and if it was left to Chris Durkin the forum would of died and deleted back in June for good.
3) If you was that interested in "Years of work" why didn't you as admin buy the forum when Chris wanted out, no you didn't and when I came along sacked everyone and started fresh and toys got thrown out of the pram so you lot buggered off and started your own forum.
4) If all the past admin and mods wanted to save SB they could of purchased it lock, stock and barrel but no and yet again they all started another forum strange what.

Please leave this forum as it is, let it start from fresh again and let Brent and Rex put their own mark on it and let us all use the knowledge and information that's available to good use.

Me I'm glad I got rid of SB purely because of the vindictive attitude of some people.

Best wishes all, god luck and I do wish Brent and Rex all the best with what ever they have planned for SB and its future but I have no interest in this forum anymore which I've said time and time again and that's a shame.

As above as far as I'm aware there are no members past or present banned and no threads or members will be banned or removed for voicing their opinion but I would like to remind everyone (before things go too far) that we are a friendly forum and whatever has happened in the past needs to be kept in the past and importantly to keep personal feelings between members off the forumPages.

I think the best thing to do going forward is to look at this as a fresh start for all. There is no gain from bickering on the past. This forum should be about your hobby and not about personal issues. Lets see if we can make it that

Forward and upwards I say and Salty Box is still the best marine forum in the UK so I hope all start to back Brent and Rex and get the forum going again for the sake of the hobby.

I for one wish all the very best and yes things have been said that should of never been written but that's water under the bridge and I wish all the very best.

Me, I'll continue to have my tank and its little friends and hopefully one day I'll be welcome here, maybe put my hands up as a mod but that's not for me and dropped out to keep things simple.

There seems to be a lot of comments about the attitude of people that had been on the forum for years maybe you should be asking why this attitude has happened since Brian took over because it was never like this. People criticising that joined around the time that Brian took the site on most posts are in support of Brian and critical of anyone who had concerns a cynical person might think that you are connected to Brian I could be wrong. No one is doubting Brian's genuine belief that he was trying to save a forum that may have disappeared but he did make a lot of poor decisions when he took over that destabilised the forum and has struggled to recover,take this as negative if you want but after nearly 7 years on this forum the last 2/3 months have been unbelievable and really do hope that Brent can turn it round but I feel that it is mortally wounded I hope I'm wrong

ohh I'm unbanned aswell. it's a shame the forum was run the way it was for a short period of time and the mods/admins where basically ignored including myself.



I may pop on from time to time but we will see as I'm also part of the other forum which is where I spend most of my time now.

most of the old admin/moderator team got banned for those who where not aware.
and of those banned many of them where the reason the forum was still going and posts being made as it was fairly quiet with a few regular posters.

Indeed, I've been a member for a while now and remember posts from you @warby and also from @chippypah

I can even remember recommending you on a few occasions as someone to provide good/sound advice

Me again I'm glad I sold SB broke even well not quite even but worth loosing money just to pass on the pain from complaining same old people that have grudges to bare and have nothing else to do all day but moan and groan and yet again it's starting all over again and you wonder why some people was banned.

A sea captain will set a course but has other people to steer it to the intended destination and to ensure that everything runs smoothly

If a mutiny occurs along the way.....there must be an underlying reason and the solution is not to lock everyone away (banish them), else there will be nobody left to run the ship (absence of members/mods/admin). The solution is to find the problem(s) and work to resolve it/them.

Yes totally with the analogy below and I have in the past posted my apologies for what went on in the past but due to fingers being pointed at me I will fight my corner.
