I am very excited about the opportunity to be a part of The Salty Box and help it continue to grow. After browsing around for the last few days, I see a lot of great, dedicated people here.
I'd like to share a few things about myself:
My name is Brent Wilson and I am 31 years old. I live in Huntsville, Alabama over on the other side of the pond. I have been a part of online forums since I was 16 years old. When I was 17 years old I decided I wanted to start my own forum, so I started what is now
http://www.mustangevolution.com. Fast forward 10 years or so and Mustang Evolution was one of the largest Ford Mustang communities in the world.
Having a desire to try something new, I decided to sell my forum and start investing into other online communities. Now I am a part of

I'd like to answer a few questions that I see come up when we purchase a new forum and then I am very happy to answer any questions you may have:
- We have no immediate plans to ad any advertisements to The Salty Box. We do have access to one of the largest family focused ad networks in the world though and when the time comes we will be using them as they do a very good job to keep the ads clean and the annoying pop ups and auto playing video ads out.
- Still discussing ads, when we do decide to add advertisements, every single active member who has registered before the day we add advertisements will automatically be given an ad free account. This means you and everyone else that is registered now will never see an ad on The Salty Box when you are logged in.
We have a lot of good ideas and plans for The Salty Box down the road that we will share with you when the time comes. I really hope I can live up to your expectations when it comes to providing you all a great community.
