sorry don't have a public link
Well it has been some time since I posted some topdown shots
Things are stable, the reactor is working perfectly with a rock steady KH of 7.2 dKh
just got ICP reasults, have some major things to adjust as expected with the reduction of the Core7 dosage but it's alright, let's do this.
P.S. Reactor + Core7 = super stable pH
Just purely stunning as usual,
Good night reefers,
Finally a FTS I know, I know...
Like you can see the layout changed a lot, things were getting too close to each other lost some corals due to some mistakes BUT what a learning process this has been, understand the elements gave me a new light over reef keeping and having done more than 20 ICP tests along the life of this tank has helped me a LOT and gave me a lot of experience how the elements vs corals "behave", anyway the tank is almost 5 years old and things are changing like over saturated sand and dirty rocks (I think this is normal) I want to do something about it but my latest N-DOC test from the 1st of april was near "perfect" so I'll hold.
Just FYI the difference I got from KHD vs N-DOC was 0,2 dKh I think I can live with that ahah
We can see that my problem is the TOC total organic carbon, and for this I will be raising BioBase ULNS (as per Triton instructions) let's see what happens... see you in 3months ... maybe !? lol
it has been a while... the tank has been growing with some ups and downs but overall it has been great at the moment this system is 4 years old and the sand/rock saturation problem is imminent, very soon I will be changing the sand and deep clean the rocks (still need some courage to do this...).
I also have been stuggling with the flow, so very soon I will double the flow inside the tank to help with the all roud circulation.
so this is a quick update for now
finally enjoy some pics
ATM I'm taking out a LOT of chaeto, that's around 20L bucket per month, the XR15 is doing an amazing job growing the algae, plus the whole return flow passing by the algae mass due to the Seadreams sump design is working 100%.
Absolutely superb pictures as usual,
unfortunately there’s very little activity on this forum anymore, Please join us at our new forum

Share a beer? How tight is that!!!!! Pedro mate, if I ever make it out to Madeira I'll buy you a beer of your own, non of this sharing rubbish from me
I remember this tank being set up when I was still active here, that sump is unforgettable, as is the tank now, beautiful, it really is!
thank you so much Colin, well you know if you even come across let me know ahah and we can have both two drink per person LOL
Hello fellow reefers,
it's time to show some FTS shots of the tank with around 1year and half. After the restart with a completely new layout here it is The Island Reef.
Lovely looking system. I had some beautiful acan colonies I grew from 2 or 3 heads. I introduced a copperband and it annihilated them
