    can I suggest that you install an RCBO before the RCD and run the new circuit into that. The RCBO are used to protect individual circuits that need that extra level of safety, installing it before the RCD will mean that it wont be tripped if a light bulb or some thing else in your house blows and trips the RCD.

    phil has two RCD in his fuse board, so the only other thing that on the RCD with the tank is shower which has a RCBO on it, so the shower wont trip the tank but the tank my trip the shower:clap:

    nice one...much easier with a split load consumer unit. I have had tanks trip before because I was stupid enough to wire them into the same RCD that protected lighting circuits :whistling:

    Sunday arrives, haven't really slept, can't wait to get going with the build ! So after an 8 am visit to the tip, pop down to mum's in Liverpool, take stuff back to B&Q, finally get home and wait for Mr Tucker to arrive.

    We've managed to get some more bracing bars across the top of the cabinet, and the sockets are secured to the back panels. More of the electrics later.........:w00t:

    We picked up some MDF boards from B&Q with a raised profile. The aim is to clad the cabinet with these, will make a final decision after they've been painted........
    Here's a pic with undercoat on..
    View attachment 68969 We chose jet black high gloss paint for the final finish, but we were unsure how it would take to the MDF. After Mrs Couch applied the first coat we were delighted with the result;

    View attachment 68970 Another coat should finish the job.

    So we'll be sticking with the original plan ! The idea is to make some doors and face them with the above. Plan is two 600mm wide doors with a removable access panel between them. This may change when we see what the doors look like though !
    After a break of a couple of hours for the footie (wish I hadn't bothered!) It was back to work. Last job of the day was to run the cable from the sockets in the cabinet to the main fuse board thingy. Now this is where the fun really started......I'll get back with details once I've wolfed down my kebab !

    Soooooooo, we , I keep saying we, but really it's the royal we, Tom did nearly all of it. Here's me with my contribution for the day....

    View attachment 68971

    I want to break free, I want to break free....

    Anyway, got as far as the fuseboard wotsit thingy and Tom realised that the board wasn't wired up properly :w00t: Turns out our socket circuit is not protected by a breaker in any way shape or form. This will be rectified VERY soon. If you want technical details, please contact my previously mentioned technical department. Suffice to say it's a good job we investigated, fate has a funny way of smacking you in the chops !
    So that was it for the day. Mrs Couch has some painting to do of the woodwork inside the cabinet. That should keep her busy for a while, saves her sititng in front of the X-Box all day :whistling: I'll stick a few more pics up during the week as we progress.

    I would like to point out that no baby oils or lotions were harmed during the making of this diary :lol:

    See Ya soon
