Not sure of the best but imo avoid api and salifert, as above never heard a bad thing about hanna, or nyos I use Red Sea which seems good but a bit of a faff,

I thought the saliferts were ok I had a jbl at first but then went salifert also got Red Sea and a Hanna for kh . Red Sea are bit of fafing about but the Hanna kh is the easiest to use I've checked the Hanna against both Red Sea and salifert and found the salifert to be the closest in results to Hanna . Hanna gave 7.5 for kh and salifert gave 7.7 so close enough for me

Salifert tests are very good for everything other than phosphate,
I used to use the salifert phosphate kit and always got very low results, it was only when I started getting some algae issues I bought a Red Sea kit which tested at 0.16,, salifert was still saying zero,
Never used salifert phosphate kit again. I do use salifert for everything else though.

    Doug,

I use ELOS for Phosphate and Red Sea for nitrate..

Best thing to do is ask an LFS ( or search YouTube for "How too's for each kit" ) to demonstrate a kit that they have and see if you can easily see the Colour charts.... I know i have real issues with the ELOS Phosphate test kit seeing the differences between the readings.... once that kit is used up I will be trying an alternative brand.
