another straw clutch here...no chance of parasite like nudi or flatworm if only certain ones are suffering while others seem to be thriving

    A couple of questions Nev

Are you using any Phos Removing Media? If so what type?
Are the SPS just bleaching or crumbling at the tips?
Have you tested your iodine and Strontium levels?

Just a few things that I checked
    Steve

    cheers chaps,

yes steve slowly stripping over a few days, and i am using rowa

    c02 is fine Dave,,

    defo no nudi's or aefw,,,checked

    here are my tests...

    temp - 25c
    sg - 35ppt
    ph - 8.3
    Mag - 1320
    Cal - 400
    Dkh - 8.6
    P04 - 0.03 or lower
    N03 - 6

tested tds and its back up to 4 today, i changed the di resin at weekend..and i am all out now [sad.gif]

to be honest i had a tds problem last year where my tds went up to 45, never lost any corals, but they turned brown
as the tds in turn affected my nutrients

dunno really what else to try i don't have strontium kit, nor iodine,

looks like will be kaput by weeekend at this rate

I think your membrane may be knackered if the TDS is up to 4 already then that's a problem.

i can help out with zero tds water but ive seen many brand new ro units runn at 4 before, karlos has a brand new one with a tds of 4 and mine did too untill i added di. Surley the tank should return back to normal with such big water changes.

I have had problems with my RO unit even when it read 0. The black algae that you have in your tank Dave seems to shoot up when the filters need changing even though the output reads 0.

nev have you checked your phos level from your output from the ro filter. If the membrane has had it then you will prob show some.

When they bleach do they feel slightly soft?
If so it could be a lack of Strontium stopping the binding of calcium which in turn will cause the lack of polyps and stripping

thanks for the offers chaps, ged has some di resin & pre filters for me to borrow, along with ROI,,so i can do another 120 litres tonight
    cheers Ged...your a star [thumbup1.gif]
    membrane is relatively new

on a plus point euphillia looks a little bigger today,

also noticed that my carbon ( just changed ) smells of the sps coral smell, anybody with a staghorn will know what i mean,
could be sucking the dead bits out, or maybe there was a bit of a warefare went on last week,,or maybe even a spawning ??

    cheers
    Nev

If your short of water (don't look like it), I can sort you out 200l of fresh RO with 24h notice. With the weather as it is though, the TDS might be a bit high though... [023.gif]
