Seems to me you have burned all your inhabitants in your tank as probably as the limewater had not dispersed enough before you added it. Dangerous stuff!! Using it is only effective if the Ph is below 8.2. I know it is a bit late now, but why not do the easy thing and do a weekly water change to keep calcium levels steady instead of messing about with chemicals. In a fully dissolved solution(kalkwasser) the PH is 12.4. Scary! Try to keep things easy and straightforward.

So what do you do if weekly water changes don't keep up with demand then?

I have been keeping marines for 8 years I realise what went wrong but remember all my stock was in a tempory tank smaller than the old display and smaller than the new one the temp has no sump so dosing direct to the tank was more of an issue as normally it would be on the auto top up in the sump

As Chris says most people's tank weekly water changes won't keep up with a heavily stocked sps tank

Just stick with the softies mate like me. No worries about dosing kalkwasser or any nonsense like that. You can still have a lovely set up. Best of luck whichever way you choose to go.
