The whole sizing of the tank has thrown me totally because I prepped all the equipment for having a 170l arrive not a 275 lmao xx

Time to start a tank thread, me thinks and provide us with lots of pics of your new tank/setup

If you upgrade the tank you may find you will end up needing 3 primes. Remember i was running 2x hydra 26 on my tank and ended up adding a 3rd to get rid of shadowing. I guess it all comes down to height from the water surface but just something to consider.

I just went through my thread and noticed i never did a before and after picture going from 2 to 3 lights next to each other. The pictures are there but on separate pages..... On a side note its amazing how much things grow and you never notice until you look at pictures from 6 months previously :laugh:

Thanks for the heads up I'd hope that 2x Primes can cover a 3' tank, but if I opt for a 4' would defo go for 3x

I started running the lower power version on a 50% acclimatisation over 3 weeks last night and I must say the colours were most excellent

They are fab aren't they I am actually considering not going down the radion route and going for a hydra 52 or a 2nd prime HD because I love the colour etc that much lol xxx

An additional Prime would be the cheaper option, especially for your size of tank (got mine from here for a good price: https://charterhouse-aquatics.com/shop/aquatics/lighting/prime-hd/ai-prime-hd-led-black).

Only trouble with a light such as the 52 is that you can't alter the distance between the LED Lenses, with individual primes you can place them where you want them/need them (and thanks to the pivotal attachment you can angle them as well ).

Thats definitely my direction at this point to angle them where i want them is my plan and you just can't beat being able to nip on your phone wherever you are and work on them - no controllers, no extra bits of kit etc xx

Yes, you can't beat scaring the wife and kids with a sudden violent bout of lightning above the tank....whilst happily sipping rum and coke from a Yacht moored miles away from home (haven't done it yet, but is definitely on the cards ).

Tank is freaking huge compared to hwta I expected so need to reassess the whole layout of my living room for it hahhaah xx

Is it new or 2nd hand? Either way you'll now have more than enough light. I'm looking forward to Summer for the power of 2 (and a bigger tank).
