Multiple duplicate emails for updates on forums I subscribe to
Hi, anyone else being flooding with duplicate emails for forum update subscriptions or is it just me? Had over a 100 duplicates come through since last night.

Are these from one thread/subscription? or is it across all the subscriptions you are subscribed too? if so how many from each subscription? times they were sent? any detailed info will help me track down whats happening and why.

I had an issue last night where I had to put password in every five minutes but think I needed update tapatalk on iPad. I'll see how it goes

Hi getting approximately 20 per hour for livestock and equipment sale subscriptions all duplicates, see screen shots. They are coming through on my computer and phone, only limited to these emails no other ones... Thank you

That will be down to cookies not saving on your phone dan, the site now uses cookies to track your login rather than the database, so if it can't save the cookie to your PC/Phone it will ask you for it when your on the site, check the phone settings to see if your allowing saltybox to use cookies, if not you may need to allow it too.

that is not working i have unsubscribe from every thing still getting spam from the one like above

It seems that the default setting in the forums is for e-mail notifications instantly, I have changed it back to how it was before, but with the alterations it somehow defaulted back, but it has saved and updated a few members profiles.

To return to how it was previously please follow these steps:

Settings: > General Settings: > Default Thread Subscription Mode: > Through my control panel only.

This will give you notifications when you log in to the forum, but it will not e-mail when you have subscribed to a thread via e-mails.

If you have "Email Notification of New Private Messages" set to ON, then you will of course still receive e-mails when you get any PM`s from members.

I unsubscribed about 16:00 and still got them. My profile is set up as described but just got the last lot through at 20:15 just after I PM'd you.

It takes the server a little while to update and sort out the new settings that we put in, hopefully the new settings will kick in shortly.

Hi, still getting them about another 200 overnight, the same duplicate ones. I have also received a couple of thread notifications which I would have expected approx 12 hours earlier so hopefully it is sorting its self out.

Ok, I have truncated the e-mail queue now, so hopefully that should of sorted it for everyone, remember to remove any subscriptions you don`t want to receive from your settings, Subscription folder (left side), and for the future, in "General settings" find -> Default Thread Subscription Mode: and select either Do not subscribe, or Through my control panel only.

This will allow you to un-subscribe from any current threads you dont want to receive notifications about, and the second one will dictate on how you receive notifications in the future for any that you have subscribed too.

We are reasonably close now to swapping over to the new forum if all goes well with the testing, which I hope to start within a day or two with some members (once I get some volunteers that is) all being well *fingers crossed* this should improve the speed on the site and hopefully everyone should get a boost.

Bare with us, we can hopefully now see light at the end of the tunnel. :amen:
