    Hi guys
Just wondering is it o.k to run my Sg at 1.09 in a fowlr
Thinking this will discourage the dreaded ws
Any advice would be much appreciated
    Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't to be honest. You really need to be nearer to 1.025 range. At least between 1.022 and 1.027 to be on the safer side..fish can tolerate low n high but I'd aim for the above. Corals on the other hand would not tolerate it. I keep all my tanks at 1.026.

    What would the minimum Sg
Hear all kinds of conflicting views
What would fish be able to tolerate
My local fish shop runs at a reduced Sg
Which is why I pose the original question

In my time running salty tanks. The lowest I've safely gone is 1.020 that was a fowlr..didn't see any detrimental effects on the inhabitants. But I'd rather stick to the norm now. Also my Lfs runs his ranks at 1.022. I'm sure loads of people will say different though.

I jumped in a bit quick there
Always worked on the 1.026 but because in going fowlr
I was told I could reduce it down for the above mentioned reasons
The bottom line is I want to get it right.
    Thanks for the input.

You can reduce with a fish only. But do it so so so slowly pal. You don't wanna stress or at worse kill your fish.

After a total wipe-out the tank is empty . Decided to strip things back, set up a quarantine tank and introduce fish every couple of months going with angels hence no corals.
    Tank is 7x2x2

1.021 / 1.022 ill be fine for fish only with no coral and no inverts, if you still want snails, crabs or the like then 1.023 as a minimum.

I put the wipe out down to a powder blue ,hence the quarantine tank, after the horse has bolted, this is the reason for the paranoia about ws
