I am a bit at a loss with the amount of di resin I am getting through. I run off 400 ltrs a month for me and my son for top ups and water changes.then I have to change the di resin.I have just checked the water in and water out bypassing the di pod.the reading was 235 in and 49 out I think it was ok but is it.

When did you last change your membrane and pre-filters? You do have a very high TDS in your tap water but the membrane should remove >90%, so your system is probably not working as well as it should.

As Neil said, that's not right, I have similar TDS incoming and get about 11-15 out which is ok..

check your pre-filters and your TDS meter and put your membrane on flush for a good few hours.. see if it improves

Always by pass the resin when you flush too

just watch if the filters were over due it may have damaged the membrane, keep an eye on the TDS , if the membrane is rejecting 95% of the incoming TDS then all is good

well after replacing the white prefilter reading out went down to 21,,then the prefilter went brown straight away so I would imagine that the local water authority is doing some work in the area.

Yeh, the amount of crap that gets disturbed with water works will ruin your pre-filter in one go.. damn.. hopefully your membrane is ok and the pre-filter is doing it's job.. I'd leave it and keep running the nearest tap to see when it runs clear

If you leave a pint to settle you might see sediment

I always change my sediment filter as soon as it starts turning brown, but wait until you think the sediment has settled

Probably trapped the last bit, the sediment after water works tends to come through sporadically

You can do as they both use the same restrictor with the membranes I supply
