hi, I am setting up a new 200ltr tanks and was wondering what is the recommended sump pump size. The tank is 200ltr with a centre weir and a return each side of the weir, the sump is just under 50ltr. My old tank is 100ltr with a TMC 1000 return pump but I dome think this will be powerful enough for my new tank. Help and advice much appreciated

Hi, yeah I’ve just finished setting tank up and the tmc 1000 just isn’t strong enough, doesn’t even get the water up to the two outlets. I’ve had to connect my old bouy 1200 pump for now until I can decide which I need.

As it’s running now the water has like a wave motion, is this ok?

That’s good then. Think I will just go for tmc 2000, can always turn it down. Cheers

What's your head height and pipe size? How many angles in the pipe? 45 or 90 degree? Any valves on return pipe? All this will effect what size the pump needs to be to achieve your desired turnover which is?
