Cheers matey might be a bit high that he's moving from 4 x t5 to led's he's got some zoas and a couple of lps. Might use that as a base but tweet it down so the peak is around 40-50%

Yeh that's what I'm using. I know you start slow when swapping over to new led lights, but what do you do when you add new frags?

Do you keep them on sandbed for a bit then move them up?

I just went straight for the higher settings and threw my coral in on the sand bed as i would new frags. Then slowly raise up over a few weeks

Getting used to the lights now and really like the look they give the tank. At night with the UV and blues corals pop and give a wow! Factor.

Just had a new dishwasher delivered and the driver couldn't Believe the colours of the corals under the lights!

Just done my tests and phosphate down from 0.36 to 0.16 in a week. So bio pearls are slowly bringing it down.

Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate all register as zero on the Red Sea test kits.

Not much of an update phosphate is still sitting at 0.16 don't want to add any phosphate remover just yet. Corals don't appear to be effected. Some nice colour and growth!

DK has dropped to 8 on Red Sea test kit though.

On the plus side I've ordered some high end zoas [emoji7] will be ready first week in march.

So today I've decided to pull the bio pearls from the tank and just use chaeto and rowaphos. On my previous tanks I never really suffered from hair algae and a dirty sand bed and after reading up a bit more a few tanks on the net suffer from the same while using pearls.

Going to go back to my simpler method I've used on previous tanks and see if that works etc

Mini update brought some stunning zoas online and they arrived last week. Was really looking forward to them but 2 arrived dead and the other three don't look anything like the ones on the website [emoji23]

most of the time you can't trust sellers online they use heavy blue lighting to enhance the colours. there's only 3 people I'd buy from online as I know they provide accurate images. are you getting refunded for the doa ones?
anyways stick up some pics of what you have got.

Sorry been a bit quiet recently with the updates! Have started a new job and that took up a bit of time and wanted to leave the tank alone to allow the new zoas to settle in.

Two zoas died on adding to the tank which I did get a refund for but the other three survived but nothing like the pics lol but are starting to grow at least!
