Well i managed to get permission and planning to upgrade to a bit bigger tank.
Got a 2 month old red sea max 130 d.Had some problems with heat when i first started but i have sorted this issue now by adding and extra fan and turning one of the other around in the hood. Also have STC 1000 setup now with heater and extra fan hooked up.
Collected 10 kg of Live rock the first day with it but since took home another 11 kilo for it today. Had my pick from 54 kilo :)Managed a lovely mistake tonight and added a scoop of my new substrate and had forgot i had not washed yet smiley-sex020 I have 21 kg in the tank and cant see a thing. Had a bit of a scape going and was hoping to finish tonight but no such look.

Well the tank has finally settled down some now. Few snaps. Will do a few tests on water if i get a chance later. Got this old dead coral off the man i collected rock from. Going to try and get Zoanthids growing on it. Have a huge dead montipora one but not room in the tank for it.

Thanks :) Will take a few water tests this weekend. Going to take this one nice and slow. Will add my soft corals maybe in a week or 2 when i see the levels look ok. I have around 23 kg of live rock between the tanks and sump in the back so hoping this will help also used some seachem stability to give a little boost . Might add some CUC this weekend from my other tank.

Re: Red Sea Max 130 d by Desmond UPDATE

Well i took my first readings today after having some shrimp in my tank all week long.
They were as follows:
Ammonia 0
NO2 0
NO3 100PPM
PO4 2.5 - 5 PPM
PH 8.3

Should my NO3 come down in time ? I have NOPOX from red sea should i start adding to try and reduce ? I was considering to add CUC this weekend but i think i will hold off. I also have soft coral to add as my other tank is being sold.Lets hope it calms down a bit.

I am wondering could it be the shrimp that was the reason as the toxins have gone from Ammonia to NO2 and now present as NO3 tyger

Nitrates should come down as the bacteria gets hold and you only having a small fish stock initially.

I will get another bottle of stability tomorrow after work and add it after a water change on saturday. I wont add any fish for at least another 2 weeks , maybe even more.Plan is to get all corals in first. Also making a plan for upgrades just dont tell her lol.Skimmer , media rack new lights. I dumped the media crap that came with the tank and used purigen , chemipure and live rock instead.

Your doing the opposite to me I am putting my fish stock in first so if I get a WS outbreak and can treat the main DT.
