Hello. This is my first post and I'm in the very very early stages of looking into a marine tank. With the high costs associated with all the various equipment (especially lights) I have had a look at the rapid led kits.
Anyone on here used them. For just under £1000 shipped I can get http://www.rapidled.com/solderless-125g-tank-diy-kit/ with controller.
In your opinion would I be getting a light that rivals the hydra 52s or even the radion xr30 pros. It would be a £1300 saving over the radions.

    Thanks
    John bailey

Yes just had a look on eBay and could prob get 3 gen 3 radions possibly even with reeflink if I'm patient. You have sent me down the line of looking at used pumps too.

why not have a look at the evergrow range? relatively cheap and will grow what ever you put under them.

For that type of money i would be going for radions. You will be much happier in the long run. Lighting is the most important piece of equipment as bad lighting dead expensive corals. As said you should be able to pick up second hand radion in uk without an issue. Pumps i would be buying new.

they dont have the same controllability though. Much easier to mess around with the settings on a radion :) plus reef link is a big plus.

controlabilty dosent bother me atall what does bother me is how they perform in the real world.

haha gadgets don't bother too much to be honest :/
razor arnt full spectrum units just white and blue so that could be the reason behind it. along with running more blue on the radions which is what the corals really need.
