Not run carbon before in a tank so now I have room, in a sump, I bought a litre of rowa carbon.

I know many people use a reactor but I already have a deltec for rowaphos so decided to use the 2 socks that come with it, 500ml in each.

Positioned one in between the outlet for reactor and intake for skimmer whilst the other sock is going just before the intake of return pump to maximise flow through it without blocking it.

You put the whole lot in at once?! Hahah seems a lot to me! But I've never been that accurate with mine. I just put a 'bit' in a bag and change it about every 6 week. I wouldn't worry about putting it in a reactor; there is no benefit IMO.

I do think it is an essential addition though mate. Just in case there are any nasty bits in the water and simple enough to use.

    Thanks, lol

All ok yesterday but he does have a habit of disappearing for days so will see how it goes.

Have you got the skimmer working yet? Mine is pulling out loads of crud, can't believe how much after only 3 weeks.

Tank is beginning to take shape with corals colouring up and growing nicely, took some photos of how tank is looking and in a month or too will add some more corals.

Trying to interfere as little as possible by just filling ATU, changing the filter socks and emptying the skimmer cup every 2 to 3 days.

The NYOS skimmer can really pull crud from the water

    Thanks appreciate it.

Would like to take the credit but when I first got the tank I had no time so my wife and youngest filled the tank and aquascaped too.

Was not overly impressed when they txt me to say they had built a wall however it has grown on me, is different height and shapes with loads of ledges etc for SPS at top and LPS and Zias elsewhere.

The fish luv it as loads of places to hide too and I am surprised how natural it looks.

Looking forward to watching it grow out.

    Thanks nodster, dannydization & CEECH..

Just need to set up the dosing pump this weekend and start adding some calcium as reduced to 350 and needs a kicker to help the corals continue their growth spurt. :)
