Being honest i think that is the best thing to do is just cut it back and add to your frag tank :) good complaint :)

Tank continues to do what it needs to do and really pleased with how the corals have developed.

As I dose calcium and alkalinity along with nopox for nitrate and phosphate control I stopped water changes 5 weeks ago as parameters were stable and I wanted to see if it had an adverse affect on parameters.

Nitrate and phos have been holding at 2 and 0.03 although had a bit of a spike last weekend to 5 and 0.045 as I dosed reef roids twice for 1st time so have left it this week and should reduce when I test tomorrow.

The sandbed is a mess and full of frags as been picking up some from other reefers and will eventually tfr over to frag tank once it has matured more.

    A few pics

looking very good. just watch the not doing water changes dosent deplete minor and trace elements unless you are adding them back in along with alk calc and mag :)

I dose alk and cal daily but never seem to need to dose mag. I also use Red Sea color program for iodine, potassium etc so should be alright although I never test for them. With Red Sea you can dose color programme weekly the daily dose of alk (I dose 12ml of alk per day so dose 6 x 2ml of color programme over a week). A bit manual as do not have enough dosing space but all seems ok. Will send off for an icp test in summer to see if it all balances out

Aaron's aquarium has a live feed on a Friday evening and I popped on there.

Des and Scott were on there along with about 60 other people.

Michael does a good job with his you tube channel and the live night has built from there. Gotta have the time to make the videos and then have more time to spare on a Friday to run it and promote it. I had a look when it 1st started and had about 15 to 20 people so to build it to 70ish is good going.

Not taken full tank shots for a while so thought I would update.

The sand bed is covered in corals as I start to replace some of the hardy corals with something a bit different but will take a couple of months to sort as I frag and move them on before replacing with 1 or 2 inch frags. Gotta be the best part of hobby for me is watching small frags grow into colonies.

Cannot believe it as other than 1 coral that I bought as a colony, blue tipped Formosa acropora in pic below, everything else has been a frag of between 1 and 2 inches.

I know the feeling iv watched loads of my pieces grow from small frags or mini colonys. once they settle down they grow fast if your params are good and stable.
