2minutes 30 seconds.
With a child on her back and shopping bag in each hand
8min 8 seconds. But she has only tried it once. In fairness she is a very fit person, has been running three or four times a week ever since Ive known her so I expected her to be better than a lazy ******* like me. But I had hoped I would be below 8min by now. I played my first cometetive game of football in over 16 years today, pulled my bloody groin so the ladder is on hold this week!
Latest heartfelt edition tonight. Two Years in the Atlantic | Two Years living on the Island of St Helena in the South Atlantic. A life in pictures

Feel like im intruding on your inner most thoughts Paul.
Good read and I seriously hope you are on the up. 2 years will soon fly past.
I wanted it to be open and honest, and something for me to look back on, plus it makes a more interesting read than "I did this", "we went there" etc. I also wanted it as an accurate account of our time here, warts an all.
A quite powerful account mate. This blog is ace. Like reading a serialised novel!
Next update. Still waiting for summer to start here. Weather has been terrible, unlike you lucky lot where I hear the weather has been great until the last week?

good to hear your sounding more chipper, great milky way shots nice fairly light pollution free sky compared to my thick orange soup where I live
are you going to start growing your own soft fruit as its in shat supply as now would be the time to plant
Its very difficult to grow here. Because of the endemic insects you cant control the bugs which eat everything, plus there are pest bird species that eat anything that grows. They are growing more on island in green houses and particular areas. Bananas are fairly readily available, tomatoes, potatoes, cabbages are everywhere, broccoli and cauliflower too. Carrots grow well and are delicious. So its improving but difficult
Plus with only being there for two years you wouldnt see the fruit of your labour ...
Get it ... fruit .... of your labour ....
I'll get me coat
great new instalment to your family's adventure great reading about all the Boobies

Good luck with the book
Sounds brilliant, even just as simple as a walk with the donkey's
Your new role as director or communications sounds excellent & a real opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on the island.
Good for you Paul
