Hi guys brief outline went away for a weeks holiday left a friend to feed fish, came back and straight away realised something was a miss the fish were not swimming in there usual places i.e. the 2 clowns who always swim at the top back left were at the front and centre and the poor Mandarin looked like he had been dipped in Bleach.
Did water checks oh what lovely colours we had levels all bagging , went to my usual lfs with water sample for second opinion not good did a 20% change followed by a 30% change 2 days later also running extra carbon now removed as per instructions ,then crossed everything but not hard enough lost Anathias day after and Clown fish both have w/s puffer also looks to have w/s rest ok so far . I am using the above Octozin in the hope of not killing my lobster ,boxer shrimp and crabs.
Just wondering if anyone has used it ??? On a positive note clowns are still eating.
    Thanks Carol.

I have used it but without success :(

First if your water quality is bad or has been, it might not be WS but stressers.

So we have to identify what is the cause and what is the effect.

If you have bought it and are using it, ok no harm. If not I wouldnt jump to it as a first choice.

Feed often and small to get them eating. Get water quality back through water changes.

Perhaps run carbon / UV / ozone ... do you have any of these?

Lastly dont panic! Mandarins often go pale at night but yes it is not comfortable watching them like that. Makes me think the worst too (needlessly)

pretty much what eaval said. iv used octozin before but no success on my 3ft tank. the only proven way is qt the fish and treat with copper or chloriquine phosphate and leave the display fish free for 12 weeks.
or the other way is help reduce the spread is keep your fish happy and well fed and they might recover.

Warby is right regarding your proven chemical options (NOT reef safe) but before panicking and going overboard lets just check it is actually whitespot and not just stress spots.

Thanks for replies, Don't know what has gone on whilst we were away, my friend has looked after them in past and not had problem , left frozen food for feeds so lessens chance of overfeeding.
Mandarin didn't make it died day we came back. I have started the Octozin today so might as well continue for next 2 days to complete course, can't QT only got this tank. Just going to have to see where this rocky road leads, but like I said before at the moment they are still eating.

Fingers crossed for you. Maybe post some pictures up as it may help.

Remember if it is WS then the cycle will show them disappear and then reappear in avengance. So stay patient. Dont write the fish off. Give them time, give them a chance.

    Dont give up!
These things are all unfortunately part of the hobby that we need to be mindful of and to deal with

Thats one reasons that I went for this Octozin to hopefully help the fish whilst not killing the Lobster and the CUC , I don't have live rock or any weeds in my tank so thats one less worry my tank is a Aqua One 620T with top filter bed in the lid so no sump, don't know how to do photos to get them on here, useless arnt I .Feeling really bad for the little guys it must be something I have done wrong I have winged it this far .

Well I hope it works for you.
I trully do. Its unfortunately something I dont know anyone who has success with ... but dont know why.

WS cant just invade whilst you were on holiday. It was wither there already or its not WS.

Yes your fish could of been always fighting it off and tou never noticed the odd white spot. Quite possible.

However I think its more likely to be due to the low water quality and is more stress related.

Fingers crossed the improving water quality and this medication help your tank turn the corner.
