    what the best way to get nitrate down

    first of all what are your readings, I think you have done this on a previous thread,what is the perams at the moment i.e. amonia, nitrites nitrates, sg,and ph

    all my tests are good just my nitrate is about 25

    Poor flow in the system. Over stocking. Over feeding. The list goes on.

    Can be a few things
    Overstocked
    Overfeeding
    Dodgy ro
    Dodgy salt
    Dead fish or coral

    i know i have good water and salt havent got any dead fish corals the food i put in goes in about 5 mins have good flow only thing i can think is over stocked
    it a 4ft tank 200lt i have 7 dansels,1 cardinal,1 banna wraz,yellow tang,regal tang,clown fish,chomies,orange wreck fish,alge bleny,2 star fish few crabs/snails corals

    mmmm 4ft tank 200l sounds like a juwel tank

    ANY filter floss in the system ????
    external canister filters etc etc

    no mate its a fulval bow fronted very rare tank as at the front of tank has a light fited in to the cabinet and the tank sits back from it they dont make them any more it cost me £900 just for tank and cabinet

    Deffo overstocked. 2 tangs in 200L. They do loads of pooing

    i use about 25kg of live rock and have 2 external filter with filter floss and carbon to keep rock clean

    15 fish in 200L is far too many. We have around 20 in 900L

    i got most of my fish from a mate who had a bad leak on his 7ft tank so need a new home asap overe wise i wouldnt have but so meny fish in all the fish live very happyly to gether what u think am best doing

    So after displacement you have around 175L of water. Best be it to get rid of some fish. I would go for the 7 damsels

    i dont get it tho coz if u look at vids on utube ppl have lots of fish in smaller tanks with no probs

    floss can build up nitrate too

    anyone know if bio pearls work with overstocking ????
    They just might help, else upgrade time :D
