RBJ2206 any chance you could send me a pic of it mate and how you've done the pipework, I'm really struggling to see how I can get this to work without pipework protruding above the level of my tank

I'm at work at the mo. Will sort one out as soon as I can. With the wier that high I can't see how you will get return pipe back without it being higher than brace bars. It also means that your DT water level will be right up to brace bars as well.

Mine is same layout as this but all glass. I have a half moon cut into glass so the return can get back into the tank.

Well they got back to me with this

Hi

The weir should be 1" under the bracing, this is standard height to allow for a wier comb to be added and should allow enough room for a pipe to come under the shelves.

no mate they kept the original 3 drill holes that were in the base of the tank

To be fair to them, considering the state the tank was they ahve made a damn good job of it, just this Weir has stumped me

So, been thinking about this tank and fish, I'd love a puffer and maybe a trigger and a foxface, but they munch corals......is it worth going FOWLR and look into this fake corals you get online.

its a hard decision, if you look on YouTube there are loads of coral fish tanks with all sorts of fish you would worry about, this time I'm taking a calculated risk with a wrasse and two dwarf angels and I got my Foxface today .

Hmm I've always read you don't put a foxface in with corals but like you, I've seen tons online with corals and the foxface doesn't even look twice at them. Tell you want tho, ill be looking to avoid easily stressed fish as my QT tank is gone just now so no regime in place for the new tank.

So now that I have a week off work my arse is making buttons to get moving on the new tank. First things first tho, I need to sell the old tank.
All I have in it now is a single clown corals and live rock, what's the risks of moving this little lot into a river reef 94? Obviously not all love rock will fit but will there be any issues moving the substrate across? I have a bucket of black substrate from a previous freshwater tank, am I better to clean it off and use it rather than moving the substrate in existing tank as I've heard this can cause all sorts of issues

I'm so lazy, on holiday this week and still haven't got the river reef setup. On the plus side my main tank is sold, done a belter of a deal for one of my mates who is into marines as well.....took less than I was wanting, but if ye cant help out mates then its a sorry place , might get the river reef setup tomorrow. Going to try that fluval bacteria stuff that's meant to be like atm colony but cheaper.
