New algae scrubber tank

so what was your view on the one you got off ebay

it worked. Now, of course, it never worked as well as this new Atlantis costing over twice the price but it certainly worked. It grew algae but a darker more compact type. With the Seabreeze, I think it is best runalong side other forms of filtratio. The Atlantis however has much more powerful lights and is more sophisticated in it's design but that is all represented in the price between the 2.

168g algae harvest from my ATS in a week and still the screen yet to be completely filled out.

I get quite a bit of growth of Gut weed (Ulva intestinalis) and other algae's on the screen which is the dominant species grown at the moment.

Did you get the algae with the ats or did you have to source it yourself?

I asked him to send me a small amount with the ATS. You only need a small amount to run over both sides of the screen and push some into the holes with a toothpick.

I love algae scrubbers, but have been without for several years now as I don't seem to get around to making one (tank is struggling as a result). As has been said on another thread by someone, not overly happy with spending loads of money on what appears to be be DIY stuff that is available online.

Tank's looking good though Les. Have seen the various incarnations on the algaescrubbers forum Big Thumbs Up

Thanks Mark, Re my ATS I have made a couple but don't have the equipment to cut acrylic or the confidence and when I added up all the bits I thought sod it in for a penny in for a pound and bought the Atlantis 2 I figured it would be sometime before a secondhand one would appear for sale pmsl Hysterical

IMO and IME they are a great aid not just in reducing problem algae in the DT but filtration in general

I used to get my acrylic cut to size by Fistafiltration, then I assembled but I never got anywhere with my last queries I was also watching the scrubber that was for sale on here recently, but it got pulled (secretly I was hoping the price would drop a bit more, but was waiting for the end of the month anyway). I followed your leaflet scrubber, I too had one ready to go but couldn't find a way to mount my lights. Only thing I have noticed is you use a skimmer as well, not instead of.
