Maybe it's tunneled out and is terrorising East Yorkshire as we speak!

    Re: Mystery Tunnelling ?

Ok Guy's & Gal's as some of you already know I've been away for a month or so with eye problems http://www.thesaltybox.com/forum/general-chit-chat/119484-missed-me-im-back-;.html and so sadly there have been no updates for which I (not eye) apologise.

Well the main tunnell entrance / exit was blocked up with shells a few weeks ago. A nearby small mushroom is also now jammed in there and has been for a couple of weeks. I tried to move it when my sight got better but it's stuck in there now. This leads me to the conclusion that the critter is now using the alternative exit behind the rockwork that I can't get too and can't get a trap near either.

Looks like the bugger has won this round as the clicking continues every day and he's remodelled his boudoir. I'm open to ideas from anyone that do not include dismantling the rockwork to catch him/her/it. Looks like this git will be staying until upgrade time the way things are going :angry2:

So a couple of obigatory pictures to show the changes.

    Old exit in use.....

And for the last few weeks.....

Phew........nice to hear from you pal. Sorry all has not been well with your eye! Hope its getting better now! Relieved you havent been dragged into your rockwork tbh........ lol ;)

Funny how its decorated its trap door with that Mushie! Ive got a Eunice Worm that drags my sun coral over his entrance.........hey we all like nice decor lol Just hope he leaves my stock alone until I can upgrade and catch the bu&&er.........god knows how long he is. I have seen 6" of him so I dare say atleast 2/3 times that inside the rock :w00t:

    Re: Mystery Tunnelling ?

I think your biggest problem is going to be, when you eventually catch it, It's going to be something really boring & mundane!!! I think everyone waiting on tenterhooks for the outcome of this thread will be getting themselves a harpoon!!! Hysterical I'd start looking up exotic, secretive sea creatures so you can at least pretend it was something coool

WB m8, you are going to have to think outside the box to trap this little bu$$er, do you watch your tank under red lights of a night? and if you do does it come out of a night or what??

Talking about mysterious things I have 2 pink worms (I think) in my tank or they could be brittle worms gunna have to get a couple of pics and post them.

    Re: Mystery Tunnelling ?

I've done the red light thing which is where all the time lapse stuff came from and how I spotted the claw.

Came down today and found the mushroom had gone. It's been there for over a week and no idea where it's gone as I can't see it anywhere !!!

    Re: Mystery Tunnelling ?

I still think it's a eunice, I had one that used to drag a 6 headed hammer frag into its hole. Had to smash the rock to get it out and it turned out to be around 10" long. Hope you find out what it is soon.

    Re: Mystery Tunnelling ?

Whatever it is the bottle trap caught a crab but nothing else in over 3 weeks. I reckon it'll have to wait until the upgrade and just wait to see what is either underneath or in the rock.
