tds could be anything dosent necessarily mean it's is phosphate. it could be copper, lead, fluoride, aluminium, nitrate, heavy metals, calcium, magnesium and so on.
my bet is it's leaching out of the rockwork after building up for years.

So realistically phosphate remover is going to be my saviour?

I'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks and decide if I want to go down the chemical route.

po4 remover isn't a chemical as such but I know what you mean. you will need to run po4 remover at some point I dont think I know anyone that dosent run it lol.
in the long run rowaphos will be a lot cheaper and more effective then doing water changes.

Well I decided to go down the route of a phosphate remover - as I went with the Aqua Forest Sea Salt and I was advised the Aqua Forest Phosphate Minus is the exact same product as RowaPhos I invested in a 500ml tub for only £14.99

I'm happy to report that since a water change on Tuesday night my PO4 level has dropped from between 0.75-1 down as far as 0.25. Also I'm not having to clean the glass as much and the Cyno looks to be on the decline. If this doesn't promote the product I don't know what does. Once I get it down to 0.03 I'll assess how quick the PO4 levels increase without it and if I need to buy more I'll get the bigger 1L tub for just over £22.

As I've lost my Regal Tang and can't find my new Orange Sport Goby I'm currently on with another water change tonight, just to make sure my Nitrates are under control. Unfortunately I don't have a NO3 test kit but would rather be safe than sorry. Although I can report that the Algae Juwel Blenny I added on Monday (same time as the Goby) is doing great.
