As you can probably see, my Toadstool is proper sulking as he got chopped yesterday, he was far too big for my tank, so I gave him a good tidy up.

    Re: 4 Months Later On

    Hi Rob

Yup - Vortech sent me a replacement wetside minus the cage FOC

I got him from a LFS near Widnes, he was absolutely covered in lymphocystis and I did the cardinal sin of feeling sorry for him, and at £17 I felt worth a shot to try and save him. Having read up about the lympho, it should clear up within 10 days as long as the fish ain't stressed and the water quality is good. Sure enough within 2 weeks he was as above no sign of the disease at all. He is fed (or at least he will only eat) frozen food every day, by pippette believe it or not and will quite happily let me feed him. He stands his ground against the others during feeding time, and is not timid whatsoever. When I first put him in, the YT absolutely battered him for a day or so, the YT just accepted him then on.

As for tips, make sure your water quality is good, and also make sure you see him eat when you buy. Mine is quite fatty around the belly and I always look to make sure he is full so to speak. Only downside, I think he has been eating my corals, a few I got from Nev have died, and I reckon he has been nipping at the polyps. Also I had a couple of snails die, again I think he is the culprit.

Also on a more positive note, he has absolutely demolished all of my aiptasia. None in site that I can see anymore.

Cheers Ged, my only worry is that a copperband will have a snack on my corals

Hope so, he was beautiful, but stretched from side to side and about 15 inches or so lengthways. I was going to try and sell him to a LFS or give to Chester Zoo or similar, but then I had the bottle to crop him, so as I can watch him grow again.

I just need to clean the glass though.

    Re: 4 Months Later On

Yep, I think mine is guilty of that. Even with a couple of missed water changes, my water paramaters have been spot on. I sort of figured, if the tank wasn't right then all the softies would have struggled as well. But they haven't and doing further reading, it would appear that a CB can be hit or miss with the corals etc

I guess mine is one of those that likes polyps. :(

They are a nice fish though, and mine is certainly the most sociable fish that I have, and will always come to me when I approach the tank. A little like the cleaner wrasse, I din't really like them, but I got him and the neon goby to help the CB out with his lympho.

Your frags are in the bottom left corner if you look carefully enough Tina.

Thanks for the compliments. As for the CB blame Nev, as he wants one and he gave me the bug, so I had to get one.

Whitish / Pink and on the Mother colony about half an inch lengthish, maybe more.

There is still loads to come off the back of it, I figured I would give it a couple of weeks to recover then give him another trim.

Different people report different things. Some say they eat corals, others have never had an issue. I think I have been lucky and unlucky,

    a) I got the fish I wanted and he is doing well
    b) A few frags have suffered through doing a) :(

Go on get one, you know it makes sense. [005.gif]
