Hi I was just wondering if anyone had experienced a mushroom killing off another coral.

I have a mushroom which is growing like mad and its just touched my Duncan. The Duncan has now lost a head where it touched.

I would have to list mushrooms in my list of nuisance corals, alongside xenias and parazoanthids. People often think it is only corals like euphyllias that will attack, but your humble little softies can be killers.

Most are unfortunately. Most softies appear to get along with each other but there is always the chemical battle going on. The sea is a real survival of the fittest kinda place.
