that's a shame pal, mine has lost its colour but flesh and polyp extension is fine, did you frag it further to try to save some?

I believe it was down to a temp swing. I was doing maintenance the night before and forgot to plug my heater's back in and when I came down Christmas morning the tank was on 24.5, plugged my heater's back in which took the temp back upto 25.9. Not much of a swing but that's the only thing I think it could be. Colour was nice with good polyp extension. I fragged it but that stripped within 30 mins.

I added a nice red face wrasse on Sunday that Iv not seen since. It's not jumped so either it's just hiding or its dead. So if it is dead maybe that could of upset the SSC

    Hi Alan,
I'm wondering if I could pick your brains regarding a Moorish Idol.
When you last kept one, how did the yellow tang react to it?
    Cheers
    Matt

Hi Matt sorry for late reply, my yellow was relentless for a day but after the first night he calmed down and accepted him. Obviously he still had the odd slap at him but that became less and less. The first idol I owned became the most dominant fish in my tank

Well it's been a while since my last update. Iv changed jobs and now work long 12 hour shifts regularly doing 60 hour weeks so as you can imagine between work and family life I am finding it difficult to find the time for anything reef related.
The tank has been neglected but is still doing reasonably well considering I hardly test any more and my balling vessels and ro topup are regularly running dry and iv not changed my rows for two months

Despite a few issues everything is going well. My nano tank is really coming into its own now. having to frag regularly. The large tank is maturing steadily, iv just thrown an update up for this tank.

You'll be glad to know my Moorish Idol is doing really well.

Had fears your tank may have been suffering with your lack of updates etc but glad to see it thriving.

Tried my hand at some smaller clams while i was over at Burscough and wish i hadnt they didnt last long. Will stick to big ones from now on, been eyeing up another huge one.

It's looking great Al, the clam is a stunner mate. Nice to see the tank is still doing well, never easy on shift work.

Have you thought about an Idol again in your tank? I'm getting very tempted to add one when I get my regal angel.
