Its in 2 sections, one above the other with a split for the water to move through. Can you not sit the skimmer in the middle section?

Yea Iv seen the two sections to the first baffle. I could have it in the middle but my preferred choice, away from the light, MM & cheato. It's a straight forward job

Changed the tank over yesterday. That was a long day! I wanted the clearseal reefspace 900 cabinet in opera walnut to match our furniture but they sent a beech cabinet:( luckily Steve had a white one in the shop so I settle with that and I am happy I did now because it looks nice

Started changing tanks at 8pm and finished at 4am and up for work at 7:30 I still have more todo when I get home and then the old tanks being collected.

As I was changing over I took a few shots of my big stag

I am very happy with it now the new tanks setup I'm looking forward to seeing how my corals react to the new leds.

Dunno tbh I'm no SPS guru like others on here, I'm just happy with any growth I get

Good stuff. Swapping tanks is a right pain.

    Glad you're happy with it.

Definitely. Most people spend a fortune on tanks, lighting, stock and skimp on flow.

The gyre's do look very impressive. The only thing I'm not keen on is the one directional flow. I'd imagine over time most of your sand will end up on the same side as the gyre

I think I agree but without waiting to see what does happen long term I don't know but if I do go down this route it will be with two Gyres rather than the one. I want to wait to see what the advanced controller does and or if they become made some what compatible with the Neptune Apex before I budge from my MP60s

I intend to run alternating flow 6 hours each way just like the tide

With 2 Ocean Motion returns creating wave/random current

Yea time will tell, I imagine it will be like having an ecotech mp on one side of a tank because they also create a lot of undertow

I can see the full forward flow being fantastic but reverse in the horizontal position surely it's just going to blast away at the sand bed and create a snow storm? Should be fine in the vertical position it will create flow both ways but in horizontal I can see two being needed, one each side to give an even matched flow with a sort of tidal behaviour; or am I missing something?
