Maxspect gyre or vortech mp40s??

Morning fellas/ladies
I recently purchased new radions and I love them...my new headache is that I run a maxspect gyre 150 on my system and was looking at getting another and putting them on a smart controller BUT since setting radions up and reeflink I'm tempted by 2 x mp40qd instead and having full control of lights and flow via the app. What would you guys run and why? Got few sps colonies and mainly lps at the minute. Gyre looks more pleasing to the eye and does shift water but can be noisy and is very one dimensional. Other than that I like gyre. Never had vortech so can't comment. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I run radions and apex to control.... and i have a gyre150. I used to have mp40s but i genuinely wouldnt ever go back to mp40s as the gyre is far more efficient, sleeker design, very powerful and given that once you set your flow you tend not to change it i cant see the need for mp40s, however [MENTION=21336]merser[/MENTION] has the same tank as i do, same lights, but he swears by his mp40s.

Its a personal preferece imo.... but i wouldnt ever go back from a gyre wavemaker.

iv got 2 x xf250 and the advanced controller wouldn't go back to normal power heads again.
you can use a ice cap to control the gyres via an apex if you have one but for me the advance controller is great.
as for noise mine are silent I'm not one for controlling via apps as you don't need it had plenty of discussions with people about that. why pay more for something with an app when you can pay less and have just as good or better end result.
I looked into 2 x mp40 + reeflink was about £750-800 iirc. I got the 2 xf250 and the advanced controller for about £450

I have 2 xf250's with advanced 250 controller, both are quiet. They move water a lot more randomly with the new controller.

Nonsense. MP40QDS are miles better. They don't break and are much quieter. Though they are more expensive. I like no wires in the water too.

Haha just the one on each! But I got replacements two days later for out of warranty gear. Good luck if the cross flows go boom! Which they all seem to do eventually. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji378][emoji378][emoji378]

I have 3x mp40wes.
Love them.
No wires in tank and a doddle to clean.

1x spare wetside also allows you to vinegar soak rotation through.

Cant do that with a crossflow or gyre as would need to either just do the rotors or the whole thing

they don't brake? hm....maybe not but they do rust for fun and I could get 2 gyres and advanced controller then also get a spare set of 2 gyres and controller for the price of your mp40s lol
