Exactly why I moved 4 years ago to where I am now. Best thing I ever did as I have more time with my family than ever before Big Thumbs Up

Money is nice but it doesn't compare to family friendly hours :)

indeed..the main reason for me wanting to leave was my hours as i worked sat, sun & monday and wed and friday evenings until 10pm..

yes i raised my concerns with lower hourly rate with my potential new boss at interview ( cheeky i know), and he is willing to review in October,,and also there is incentives too..

biggest bit mon-fri daytime normal hours

i will actually earn the same give or take a pound or 2,,coz i work slighhtly more hours..

i do feel a bit gutted having to resign from somewhere, friends made etc

Worked in retail for a huge electrical store, after 15 years of working weekends bank holidays
and most of christmas, I thought sod this. Took a job with a local council cleaning communal
areas, pays thousands less than I used to get, but monday to friday and all bank hols off. Would i go back..
Not even if they paid me £100,000 a year.
Go for it. Life is for living not slogging your guts out for some faceless company.
    Mike.

Your only doing it so you can play out at the Liverpool museum bash ;)

I changed jobs years ago & took a big pay cut as my job was soooo stressful & they had me working more & more at home in the evenings & weekends aside from Mon-Fri normal hours....so went into my local council.....piece of cake now & no stress at all.
I struggled to decide what to do as the money kept saying to stay but my family & social life was saying to move

    Go for it Nev

Good on you, getting the work/life balance right is tricky sometimes. I could earn more if I wanted to travel to Manchester every day (adding at least 2 hours to my day) and probably have to work at home and deal with more stress. Not worth it IMO, life's a breeze where I am and it's 5 mins from home. :thumbup1:
