if you look up to my review you will see that the wp 25 would be great in a 3 foot tank, the new controller has 3 power settings 100% power 75% power and 50% power and with the 7 function settings plus the pulse controle its very customisable

Was looking at the 25's but thought if I go with a 40 I could turn it right down so its near silent plus I'll be covered for the future in case I upgrade.

So if I order one from FishStreet is it simply a case of plugging it in and off I go or do I have to order a power supply for UK voltage and also do you have to use the stupid night sensors?

    Cheers

No you chose the plug you want I.e uk plug, and don't have to use the light sensors. Wp25 would be better as it does 8000lph and it's small

    Cheers lads. Wp25 it is.

Are they a narrow flow beam or wide beam like the Vortechs?

    This give you any idea?

Edit: the noise btw is the skimmer which is right behind the powerhead.

I can't hear my WP40 at all now it's bedded in. The noisiest thing on my set up is the fan in the back of the cabinet which is due to being fairly close to the wall. Can 'just' hear the skimmer bubbling away if you listen really carefully with the TV off at night when all is quiet and the kids are in bed!

1 wp25 and 1 wp40 delivered today by fish street . From ordering to delivery less that a week . Very impressive .

The WP25 came with the old controller and the WP40 came with the newer s1 s2 s3 controller . I had ordered the switchable voltage supplies anyhows as it was worth the extra $10 .
Here's a picture for comparison between the two.

And another to compare the size to an MP40 wetside
    View attachment 93683

The magnets are fitted with a rubber foot and very similar in design to the Tunze's wetside to stop vibration .
Although the flow pattern is not as refined as the Vortech's these pumps really do move water at a tremendous rate and even on full power they are virtually silent .
It's very hard to pick faults with these pumps but if I had to I would say the controller looks kinda cheap in comparison to the Vortech's but hey I could buy almost 5 WP40's for 1 MP40 so I really have no grounds to complain whatsoever .
Will have to see what reliability is like but all in all these are very impressive and well worth the investment .

I noticed the 25 worked better but when I changed the moonlights down to 1% it still reverted back to normal mode with the room lights out. I ended up doing the mod with the 510k resistor and both of mine work perfectly now.
