sorry to hear your about your predicament, this hobby has a habit of kicking you in the crotch every now and again unfortunately, at least its something else you can put on your fish keeping CV though...i'm trying to put a positive spin on this here!!!

No your right in that statement
Just wish i had room for a quarantine tank but have no where to put one
I think it came from a algae blenny he was the last fish about 3 weeks ago to help with a out break off hair algae which he did bless him
Oh well like I say just got to keep my fingers crossed and hope that some survive if they don't then I'll give the tank a break for while to be honest

must admit the one thing I swear by is my quarantine tank, I QT everything before it goes into my display whether it be CUC, corals, inverts or fish, usually for 28 days. Its far better to have one and not need it than to need one and not have it I think...chin up mate, I've only been in the hobby for 18 months and we've all been where you are now in one form or another, it'd be boring otherwise wouldn't it??? :003:

Do you run UVs Orc I know there is some controversy over there worth but I swear I wouldn't be without mine. I run two 600 TMC Vectons. I know it doesn't stop white spot but if it can disrupt the free swimming of whitespot your fish have a fighting chance of being able to fight it off on there own.

Did you test on ammonia (NH4)?

Once, in my early days, I lost all my fish on this issue. It all started with a broken streamer...
A waterchange an filter over zeolite fixed it then.

I'm a firm believer that 99% of tanks will have w.s. and it's a case of managing it. keeping the fish happy well fed e.t.c.
unless you qt everything wet for 12 weeks you will more then likely end up with it in the tank.

sorry to hear of your troubles. I had a wipeout a few weeks ago and it was a sore thing to swallow but back now and things going strong. I hope they pull through for you.

Looks like my poor puffer isn't going to make it and the clown is swimming against the flow off the power head he's never done that before bless him he's covered in spots
The only one not affected by it is my peacock wrass it's totally clear for now and very happy ,is this a wrass thing or is she just lucky

Still they are all still eating which may be a good sign

Sorry to hear this, my wrasse survived when I had WS, I think wrasse have a thicker mucus on the body, and they're a bit more resilient.

Well we called in to see Steve and Chris at burscough yesterday and had a word with them and came away with some reef safe medic as Chris said its the price off a new fish and if it works good if it don't so be it and I tend to agree
So we dosed twice yesterday and once this morning so far
We I'm not saying its anything to do with the medic but sidley the puffer is fighting back from the im sat on the bottom off tank to swimming around and eating blood worm and garlic mists and bobbing around now,,he still has a few spots but his colour is coming back
The angle is almost clear now and feeding again and freeda the fox face is swimming as though nowt has happened now she still has one spot on her head
Only one still suffering is Eric the maroon clown he's covered in like a fine white mist now and still swimming in the current off the power head but he ate this morning some off his favorite dried food first time in 3 days so fingers crossed he will make it i hope so as he's a brill character off the tank
Lenny the bleeny is ok he's still a bit agitated and flicking rubbing now and again but not as much so let's hope were winning the battle

I Hope you can get out of this with your remaining fish.
But imo white spot = copper. and q/tank these reef safe products are feeble when it comes to treating it.
Money down the spout imo.

Yep your right but in my case its a bit to late for that but I've learned a big lesson in marine tanks so hopefully I can move on and learn from it and maybe come out the other side with some fish saved

Reef safe remedy worked for me (Kick-Ich by Ruby Reef) with my old 5' tank when my Powder Blue Tang got it bad and it passed to my other inhabitants. I followed the instructions to the letter and to be sure dosed for a little longer........

I never lost a fish and the white spot never returned

Sometimes it's good to try new things and go with your instincts :whistling:

Well after a 5 day holiday in the forest off dean i came back today to two dead fish Eric the maroon clown and Lenny the algea blenny shame but not to bad
The angle is still bad but holding on and my fox face is better some bad scar's on her side but she's getting better ,the puffer is still going strong but still has a few spots on him
So back to dosing and waiting I'm seriously thinking off dropping the salinity next week over 3 days then 7 days at low level then 5 days ramping it backup to see if that helps or just getting rid and going falow for 12 weeks and starting again a bit harsh but thinking off it
