open to advise on this one, first thought was a couple of clowns but rethinking on that one, obviously limitations apply so all input appreciated

I wouldn't do a pair of clowns. How about symbiosis...shrimp goby and pistol shrimp...Yasha, Randall's, hifin red banded goby, Dracula goby...all of them go with the colourful Randall's pistol shrimp.
Or how about sexy shrimp and mini maxi anemones? A pygmy wrasse like my pink streaked or possum wrasse would be happy in there.

    evaporation - a challenge
jennybugs once commented that the fluval edge lost surprisingly a lot of water through evaporation, now discovering how true this is and the challenge is on to design an ATU appropriate to the confines of the tank - thinking along the lines of a miniature peristaltic pump connected to a reservoir within the stand, need a miniature float switch as well - thinking caps on

I have to say, I have never seen one so it was a bit of a joke.
I'll keep an eye out, there will be a simple solution somewhere but it may be a consumable item, more so than float switches.

as much as I have kept marines on and off for 40 years have never cycled using the live rock method

    Hi Gordon

If it were my tank, I would add the LR now mate

It may kick off another cycle if not fully cured, but that won't matter if there is no livestovk in anyway. ;)
