day 1 - a little cloudy but settling nicely
Nice one Gordon! Loved my edge tanks! Always get the urge to set up again
What is the proposed stock?
open to advise on this one, first thought was a couple of clowns but rethinking on that one, obviously limitations apply so all input appreciated
yes, although never kept corals will try this Thanks
dead easy mate, and they look nice as well. and a shrimp possibly?
you reading my mind? anything else
I wouldn't do a pair of clowns. How about symbiosis...shrimp goby and pistol shrimp...Yasha, Randall's, hifin red banded goby, Dracula goby...all of them go with the colourful Randall's pistol shrimp.
Or how about sexy shrimp and mini maxi anemones? A pygmy wrasse like my pink streaked or possum wrasse would be happy in there.
evaporation - a challenge
jennybugs once commented that the fluval edge lost surprisingly a lot of water through evaporation, now discovering how true this is and the challenge is on to design an ATU appropriate to the confines of the tank - thinking along the lines of a miniature peristaltic pump connected to a reservoir within the stand, need a miniature float switch as well - thinking caps on
A Tunze Optical Sensor?
I'll leave now
it had entered my head, not much smaller than a conventional float though and difficulty with interfacing
You wonna speak to Gordon, I hear he's good with auto topups. Lol
I have to say, I have never seen one so it was a bit of a joke.
I'll keep an eye out, there will be a simple solution somewhere but it may be a consumable item, more so than float switches.
just added a tunze 6015 see preview http://www.thesaltybox.com/forum/product-reviews/111300-tunze-nanostream-pump-6015-a.html
at what point should I add live rock? now or when ammonia zero's
as much as I have kept marines on and off for 40 years have never cycled using the live rock method
If it were my tank, I would add the LR now mate
It may kick off another cycle if not fully cured, but that won't matter if there is no livestovk in anyway.
live rock added
got a pair of onyx clowns in mine with gorgonians, got a tank thread up take a peek...
