Well I've seen it all now.

Sold a faulty VHS/DVD Recorder on ebay as below:

    DAEWOO - DF4501PV - VCR/DVD COMBI

    DVD PLAYER/RECORDER - VHS PLAYER/RECORDER
SOLD AS FAULTY - THE VIDEO PLAYS GREAT BUT WHEN YOUR ATTEMPTING TO RECORD 30 SECONDS INTO A VCR TO DVD RECORD THIS ITEM SWITCHES OFF.

ITS IN A OK TO GOOD CONDITION

ORIGINAL REMOTE INCLUDED, UNIT ONLY AS PICTURED

NO LEADS WILL BE SUPPLIED, UNIT ONLY AS PICTURED

TESTED AND SOLD AS FAULTY AS ABOVE

    UK SELLER

The buyer as now placed a dispute with Ebay asking for a refund as it was faulty, yes you dick it was sold as faulty and the description shows this as above but.............. he has written in the reason the following message:

Comments: Please refund me £79.99 as agreed in your email to me for the returned faulty item.

    1) I have not received any email never mind agreed to a refund way in excess of the purchase price which was £33.00 for the DVD recorder and £10 postage so £44 in total.

He only has a feedback of 3 so I think its a scam buying faulty goods, requesting a refund in excess of the sales price and yes my PayPal account is now in negative balance because of this dick.

    Drives me nuts.

Anyway, I have refused the refund as it was described fully and no refunds but Ebay and PayPal are gods as we all know so now I wait for the results.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa not amused at all :(

Owe and in his complaint he writes:

    Return postage: seller pays
    Return reason:
    Doesn't work or defective

Must have thick plastered all over my face.

This sort of thing is the reason I don't sell on e-bay anymore. Buyers have all the rights and sellers have jack.
Have sold a few things on gumtree, (mostly astronomy equipment)

list it, someone rings up and comes and has a look, pays you and buggers off. Simple and free. Much better.

I've had a few issues in the past as a seller on ebay, however, they actually ruled in my favour on all three occasions :)

The evidence was compelling and my case argued with a logical approach and the buyers were idiots :aaaaa:

I have to wait until the 8th for EBay to get involved but what's gone in my favour disregarding the advert content explaining its faulty the actual the condition link says Condition: For parts or not working.

    Condition in eBay's description is:

An item that does not function as intended or is not fully operational. This includes items that are defective in ways that render them difficult to use, items that require service or repair, or items missing essential components. See the seller’s listing for full details.

See all condition definitions- opens in a new window or tab

So I hope this goes in my favour.

Common Sense says that they should rule in your favour, be good if they could also slap a penalty, or better still, a ban on the idiot :D

A Ban? The guy has a score of 3! £30+ in profit and a ban, I'd say he got a result!!
I sell a lot on eBay and have had very few problems. But I will never send another fishing rod or attempt to write an address in Mandarin again.

    Email from Ebay just now..........

    Hello ,

Thank you for contacting eBay Customer. My name is Gay R. and it’s my pleasure to assist you regarding the daewoo df-4501 (item# ************) that you sold to “georgios5”. I’m sorry to hear that a case has to be raised despite describing the item accurately. I know it can be frustrating since you’ve done everything in order for this transaction to go smoothly. Please be assured that I will provide you the best resolution that you truly deserve for your satisfaction.

Before I proceed, I would like to thank you for staying with us and choosing eBay as your on line marketplace of choice as I know how challenging it is to be a seller. While I know that this particular transaction has been a discouraging experience on your part, I can assure you that situations like these are very few and far between on eBay.

Brian, I’ve thoroughly checked the case details and I admire your willingness to resolve the matter by keeping your communication with your buyer. For your satisfaction and to ensure that your concern is fully resolved, I am happy to bring the good news that I’ve decided to close this case on your favour and release the funds back to your PayPal account within 1-2 hours since the item is clearly as described. I am also glad to inform you that this case will no longer count on your seller dashboard thus not affecting your seller’s performance.

    I won.

Now lets add some negative feedback.

And guess what, I cannot leave negative comments only positive.

I'll leave it as it is and put it down to experience.

Only buyers can give negative feedback now not sellers (but you can respond to negative feedback). Why they changed it is beyond me as it makes a mockery of the whole feedback system.
