Yeah in Maryport, Cumbria. The guy who owns it told me that tropic Marin have in the past asked him for samples to run as a comparative test sample against their products. The nsw is drawn in straight from the solway and sand filtered before being used in the aquarium and a sideline of the business is selling saltwater, it's an absolute god send.

It's reassuring finding someone else who uses NSW as I always felt like I was going against the grain!!! The fact that I can buy it so cheap is the main reason why I'm allowing myself a new 750 litre tank, plus it's a lot easy when it comes to undertaking water changes! NSW all the way as far as I'm concerned

We moved to the seaside in April last year........why have I not started using NSW. With my Nano Tank, I only need 25 litres a week :w00t:. Will take a 25ltr container with me next time I visit and give it a try (after a few tests).

Remember to let it warm up to room temperature first or test results will be skewed.

So I got a juvenile vampire tang last week. Had it a week in a big box trap so the other fish can get used to it.

Released it yesterday and a bit of chasing. Worried about its first night out and about but all good. Still very nervy. Will try get pic soon

Sorry for the long delay in updates.

Tank hasnt been doing too well. Last year was dismal. If it could go wrong it did.

I have lost all SPS except for a couple of frags. Tank is overrun with asterina, hair algae and aips.

I have decided to completely restart the tank, partly as the scape isnt stable from all the burtowing of the pistols pair but also as I want to check the intank dsb for predators.

So when I get a half chance will be setting up a temp tank to house the fish.

Tank will be emptied. Sand cleaned etc.

Question is do I medicate the fish with anything whilst I have the chance?

Any suggestions for killing the live rock?
