My LFS had a purple one in a while ago... My likey very much.
Jez from poseidons-palace turned up a little earlier than i expected so i missed him which was a shame as would have been good to meet the man himself :thumbup1: but at least i got out of the moving tank part
and this is what i found waiting for me when i got back...
As requested, no gubbins in the sump because i have a rather exact system for the internal setup....
The main display looks fantastic and is a good size, can be quite hard to visualise how a tank will look until its in place and this looks spot on
I suppose this is the front veiw and as you can see, you will be able to see straight through it which is one thing i liked about my last tank, getting to see whats going on from all angles. should also make it much more accessable like this:thumbup1:
will have 3 stand pipes for lots of flow. its quite a big weir but i may reduce its size with some sand or lr.
Really please with the look of the braces at the moment, i was worried that they may be too big or be in the wrong place but at the moment i cant see any issues. they are a lot smaller than i thought they would be so im a very happy chappy
Getting wood, this is where i was when i should have been meeting Jez :whistling: 18mm exterior grade ply with a dab of undercoat.
i used some foil backed poly underlay for a bit of a cushion and insulation.
and a few shots with both tanks in situ
and just incase your wondering, no i didnt clean up all that mess.... so i have another job to do in the morning.....
Thanks cheers for any comments guys Thanks
are you putting baffles in the sump? it may need bracing if not.
yeah, you can see my design in earlier post to this thread
tank looks like a stunning size, and a large sump to :-D
Carnt tell i can not sleep
popped in to see him on Tuesday and he was playing games (ticket to ride) so no updates
OK Cool Thanks
been very busy of late, such is my life of playing games....
anyway, heres an update! i finally got back to work on the tank now i have finished one of my other projects. baffles are in the sump and i have done a leak test on sump and alls fine
about time LOL
waiting for my frag tank to come back home
cheers chap, its been great but ill be glad when i get the corals back in the tank tbh. i think im going to get some salt this week. oh and i fixed the leaky waste pipe... dental acrylic:whistling:
also still need...
fish..... good lordy
It'd be good to be a customer of yours soon Big Thumbs Up
cheers fella ordered my salt and sand tonight, so ill be starting the big fill soon. just got to order my pipe work first
At least you'll be ok if there's any drilling or filling to be done.
Sorry I couldn't resist
where did you order from in the end ?
i ordered from swell, with the discount code and now i have just ordered a few bits of pipe from coral culture. not all of it because im not sure how big the holes are :/ stupid i know but it was ages ago, and all i can remember is trying to decide whether to go for 32mm or 40mm...
i know all i have to do is measure it but im not at work and i forgot to do it before i left today, heyho, it wont hurt to have a few extra bits of pipe anywhooo.
lol, well i have already been drilling and filling. i used a big wodge of dental acrylic to attach a shower waste to the bottom of a header tank that i drilled
first wet test to see if there are any leaks and to give the tank a bit of a rinsethe bulkheads seem to be working a treat, and plenty of room for cleaning between them this time. the last tank i placed them far too close together
