Little bit of history. This will be my 4th tank. Started with the classic river reef 94 which ran for 2 years rather unspectacular before upgrading to my 5ft x 14" x 18" which started in Jan 15 and was broken down at the start of this year to a dinoflagellate outbreak. The tank went through all the problems WS, GHA etc which has given me lots of knowledge over the past 3 years. For the 6 months before shut down is was powered by ATI Essentials via a doser. The tank finished with mixed reef with a preference to SPS. Also running a little nano on the side.

The purpose of this blog will be to track and document the up and downs of the rebirth of the 5ft tank. Hopefully with the knowledge of the past 5 years, problems will be minimal but this will be 1st SPS only tank for one simple reason I want to keep a regal angel fish. Just one picture to remind me how the last tank finished.

25kg of reef flowers washed, run clear with tap water then final finse with RO.

Recommendation anyone using this sand it needs some serious washing before use.

One of the negatives of my old tank was the aquascape using aquaroche was its height in a shallow tank did not leave much room for SPS height growth. Picture of my old scape which was well suited for LPS. Hopefully this time with low scape no such problem.[IMG]

Little preview of aquascape and 60 litres of salted. Scape is nothing exciting or clever but hopefully is well suited to SPS.[IMG]
