Featured Atc 800+

Jus bought a fortex 800 heater controller . Came with no instructions can't decide if I've wired up wrong or the unit is faulty.
Using for heating only can anyone help with wiring up? Please

Is there a sticker on the back with the wiring diagram ?

 

Yes but it's totally different to how it should be wired up mate

 

Right it may be an older model that has different wiring can you post a photo ?

For a single heater less then 300wats

First link between 8, 4 and 2

then

8 = Live
7 = Neutral
6 & 5 temp sensor

3 live out to chiller

1 live out to heater (s)

Chiller and heater Neutrals to 7

 

Wanting to wire a 300w and a 400w heater up no chiller this do able?

 

Right then Live 8 and neutral 7 via a 3 amp fuse (plug)

5 & 6 temp sensor

from another plug with a 13amp fuse live to 2

live to heater from 1

and join the neutral from the heater and above plug using joining block

 

Il try it again in the morning using your info mate cheers

 

Wrong has his one only has 8 terminals

 

live and neutral fine

sensors fine

link live feed to pin 2 and 4 or 1 and 3 just simply move your brown wire across one to pin 3 then put a wire from the brown mains input to the link wire

then link all neutrals in the plugs together

It looks like you have bridged pins 1 and 2 not sure why though

Hi as it got a resister on the temp probe connections as if not it can be affected by ballasts from lighting which will give you a wrong reading which can turn the heater on when its not needed so causing the water to get to hot. The resister is a tiny button type thing about 3mm across it with 2 wires that go into the 2 terminals the the temp probe is wired to. They are a good unit except for this little blip which my m8 found out when he noticed his heaters were on nearly all the time when they were usually off. chrisBig Thumbs Up
