Well the new tank is finally in place

Its a gloss white Aquareef 195 with some mods.

Ive replaced the standard skimmer with a bubble magnus 3.5 and fitted a better return pump.

Ive remove the standard lights and ordered a it2060 pro reef v2 led light instead with standard 90 degree lenses. hopefully be here in a couple of days.

Also added is a bio reactor. Im going to run the bio balls for a little while and see how i get on with them, no harm in trying.

I also bought a V2 4 stage RO unit today and a few other goodies from a very helpful Steve thanks mate for all your advice. So now I'm able to produce my own water good buy weekly trips to lengthen my arms carrying those barrels :-d

This tank is mainly going to be SPS so is going to be a steep learning curve for myself ( thanks to all those who have given me advice already much appreciated )

I will start adding pics soon and keep you all updated on progress . Big Thumbs Up

Mark.

be careful not to use a too powerful one
as you need a certain retention time within your sump
for everything that goes on in there to work correctly

Thanks for the advice jim-fitz.

The pump I've fitted is fully adjustable so I will be able to control the flow.

Well the tanks nearly full. :) I had a little accident yesterday were I decided to go and have a little nap, and the little nap turned into a 3 hour sleep and I flooded the kitchen. Oops bring on the roasting from the wife :(

In work today for a few hours then back home to make the final water needed . Hopefully have the salt added tonight and start the pumps to get everything going.

Hi Mark – Just started reading up on your thread, I’ve got the AR275 in black (second-hand) and it’s presently going through the cycling process with 30Kg of LR. I would like to keep in touch so please take the time to check out my thread you might find some advice helpful or vice a versa.

I couldn’t help but notice you’ve purchased the “Evergrow IT2060” same as me, I’ve played around with a few of the settings but as yet not mounted it other than placing it across the glass – maybe we could get our heads together and come up with a few ideas as to how to mount it.
Could you give me some advice on the V2 4 stage RO unit (Purchase price and parts to obtain) – I’m looking to purchase considering I will be looking at 2ltrs per day evaporation and 50ltrs salt mix every 10-14 days.
Look forward to your posts.

I should be getting my light this week, as i understand from the picture from the site i ordered it from it already has mounting legs attached. At least thats what i hope it has.

From reading post's on this site the new it2060 pro reef v2 lights come with legs.

My V2 RO unit was bought from a sponsor on this site, Its the 75gpd unit as its alls he had left 4 stage. Cost was £99. I also got a inline TDS unit at a cost of £25.

Its well worth getting yourself one, Saves a lot of hassle and you know what your putting into your tank :)
