    Id also advise stuck to softie to begin with age stock lighting on the tank you are looking at won't be enough for sps and you knowledge is not enough yet to keep them alive. Soft first then lps when you are doing well with them or even sps.

    ok cool, thanks, any ideas on running costs per month?? as in electricity, salt and water and food, not corals

    could i do 10% water change every 2 weeks?

    If you aren't using a skimmer then you should change about 10% weekly if possible.

    salt after a intial fill wont be too much as 10% isnt going to amount to tons, a 22kg bucket mixes 650l roughly dependant on what salt you get to buy this is around the £50 mark. You can also buy smaller but this way works out the cheapest.
