They can't do Keith. In actual fact the white spot parasite spends 90% of its time in the substrate or in the water! Only 3-7 days on the fish!
Not at all, the levels have to be ridiculously high, too high for any aquarium, for it to be toxic.

Nitrite isn't toxic to marine fish, so there must be another reason to the losses.
I tend to follow a newer approach and start introducing fish after ammonia hits zero, ignoring the nitrite part.
