Phosphates are currently 0.4 (Red Sea test) Been dosing nopox for along time now but it won't reduce phos
So tried rowaphos in reactor which did reduce from 0.6 to 0.4 but couldn't get it lower so tried lots of water changes around 50 % overall in my 200l tank,(added new pre filters, carbon block, resin in ro unit which produces 0 tds)
Recently added 85ml of seachem phos guard in sump....new test is 0.4 phosphates
Tank has lps sps some mushroom,no algae but no coral growth
OK, I am going to play devil's advocate here to a point so bare with me and don't shoot the messenger.
The way I see it is ATS apart from refugium types are having a hard time getting full acceptance in the hobby. Now you might suggest plenty if people run an ATS but in comparison to other forms of filtration etc, they still have quite a way to go IMO. When I talk about my ATS many treat my posts with something akin to suspicion and that they are some sort of snake oil.
I was looking at atms colony and it sounds like it could be used in my new tank, was also looking at seachems stability both sound equally as good but have massive price differences, my question is, is one much better than the other and also is there another bacteria you guys can recommend.

After a rather horrific year with the tank. I've gone for a clean up, but time and kind of started again.
For whatever reason, I ended up with Algae everywhere. Just overnight went boom. My sand was constantly filthy and no matter what I did, I just couldn't get it moving forward.
So, out comes the MP10, RW4 (the other one seems dead). In goes a Tunze 6105 and 6095 controlled via a 6096. I lot of movement in a small tank but I feel it's required.
Out comes the rock, and sand, in goes...
I'm after a little advice on cycling my new tank. It's a 640litre tank and it's been running for around 4 weeks with some live rock, skimmer, seachem matrix and ceramic media in the sump
I'm wondering if someone could let me know what I should be doing at the point I'm at, as it stands I have high nitrites and nitrates and my ammonia has just dropped back to 0. Should I be leaving it for a bit longer or doing water changes to bring the levels down?
My tank has gone to ****. Corals look dead. Cyano and algae. Just tested everything. Help me sort it out as don't want to give up. Advise on levels please? Nitrate 25 ammonia red sea gave 0 reading salifert was <0.15 phosphate 0.1 nitrite 0.1 calcium 0.04 left so 480. Kh 0.40 left so 9.3 and magnesium 0.11 left so 1335 salt was up to 1030 but it's now 1025 after adding ro
I noticed this morning that I couldn't see my healthy Regal Tang swimming around my tank. However it was early and I don't aways see it on a morning. But after two feeding sessions I still haven't seen it.
Not being happy about this I've now moved all the rock around in my tank, I still can't find it. I'm not sure if it's anything to do with yesterdays additions when I bought a Algae Juwel Blenny and a Orange Sport Goby. The Blenny is still about and doing fine, I also...
