Flow, flow and more flow.
It has often been said flow is one of if not the most important thing we add to our reef aquariums esp SPS dominated. The more corals you have so the flow is diminished and even more so as those SPS grow and fill out all areas of the tank. How much flow should I have and do I have too much flow in my aquarium are regular questions that pop up on reef forums. The simple answer is enough flow to benefit whatever corals you have and not so much as to inhibit their expansion and growth. Now that... -

New Setup with Sump problem
Hi everyone,
I will be starting a new SW tank soon. I've had some good advice about getting running (the tank was used before so I will be giving it a good clean with vinegar and running polyfilter).
I have been advised to drill the tank and use a sump (ditch the trickle filter in the hood).
The problem I face is a partition in my cabinet which serves as bracing also it seems. I really dont want to mess with the structural integrity of this cabinet. but will do if need be.

Corals bleaching help?
Hi folks. I was wondering if anyone can help diagnose my problem. A couple of my corals seem to be bleaching as in the pictures below. I am not sure how to remedy the problem as I can't seem to isolate a cause. I thought they may be getting too much light so I turned my lights down for a few weeks but the problem has persisted. I did a bit of reading up on various websites and it seems bleaching can be caused by too little light as well as a number of other factors. Also, a hole has appeared... -
Overflow Help :(
Hi,
We've had our tank up and running for a while now and never been completely happy with the overflow
The guys who installed it didn't do it properly which is a shame. We have two pipes going down into our sump both at the same height (although I think one is a mm taller). We are struggling with the noise these make from the water and air going down them
We can control the pipes by a valve to back the water up and remove the noise but it stops the water from being sucked in from the... -

Orange Spot Goby - Stuck in my Weir
The pita has gone and got himself stuck in my weir
Easiest recovery would be for him to swim through the pipe and into my filter sock, but so far not done that  Now my tiger pistol shrimp is all alone.
He's been there almost a week now and have been feeding the weir as well as the display to keep him going.
Any suggestions most welcome....but it does not help when the weir is 2' deep with little space to manoeuvre :w00t:
I'll have to get a very small fish net and try that me... -

DougandAmandas eareef1500s
I've been meaning to start a tank thread since the birth of this tank in January,
I initially took a trip out to Burscough with the plan of ordering one of the red sea reefer tanks as a replacement for my old and tired 4 foot tank, whilst there I noticed an eareef tank Steve had on display so with many ££ spent we went away to await delivery of our new eaReefPro1500s, and a few other goodies.
The original plan was to put it in the dining room but Amanda decided it would be best in the...
