Fish Dying
Hello,
I'm at a loss. I'm still relatively new to this and so not really sure what is going on! My tank is about 9 months old, generally been good although did go through a period a while back where my corals started to look really bad. Am through that now and thought i was doing well but in the last few weeks i've lost 4 fish. I've checked all the things i think i should be checking and aside from Nitrate being 12ppm ( which i didn't think was too bad ) i can't spot what could be wrong.... -
Reefspace 900 Build, The Second Coming
Guess I better make a thread for my new tank, another Reefspace 900, but this time in white.
Picked the tank up back in December after having a chat with the wife about changing the colour of the living room furniture from black to white. It came with a blue backing, which I hate, so that was whipped off

Had loads of dry rock pre-purchased, so left that soaking in RO for a few months with regular changes

Blues On Or Off During The Night???
My new AI Prime HD has a lunar function that can imitate the phases of the moon to reduce/increase the blue light if left on at night (currently set at 5% it will become 2.5 at half moon and 1.25 at quarter moon, etc..).
I ask the question as am not sure if leaving some light on all night is beneficial to the occupants, or not? So what's the verdict and what do you do? -

Poorly Coral?
Hello.
Easy question for some I’d imagine but I’m new to this. I’m guessing the black bits of this coral aren’t good! A sign I have it too high up and close to thing? Not getting enough of what it needs?
Help please. And thank you!

Need Help With A New Light
can anyone recommend a new light for me able to copy with all corals?
I could do with one with a time that starts and ends doing the full lighting cycle and then off for the night. -
Back To The Hobby For A Second Try!
Hi all! Well I’ve bit the bullet and returned to marine fish again. I did have a small tank before which just ended in disaster so decided to sell up, this time round I am not being beaten and have bought everything I believe to make a good setup! I got everything delivered last Friday 13/10/17, Here is the equipment, let me know what you think:

Cyano And Confusion
Ok. Following on from my previous post some developments.
Lots of red slime on my sand, which from reading is the bi-product of the bacterial action of cyano bacteria.
I'm scooping it out with a net, rinsing the sand thoroughly until its all washed away before returning it.
Phosphates have now dropped right back again, and curiously the skimmate has lightened considerably from it's previously near black colour to light brown, which would suggest less organics? So, if the cyano bacteria...
