Would be interesting to see how many of you use the above, or rely on your LFS to quarantine.

never used one. when buying fish i always look at it for a long time to make sure it is healthy.
i also tend not to buy fish that are easily stressed i.e. tangs as i prefer small gobies/wrasse etc.

Due to the tangs I have, I now do use a qt tank.

I also have 3 spare tanks just incase I have a problem and need to whip all fish out.

Never used one. I make sure I always buy from LFS with good reputation and QT system.

I dont use one for adding fish but i do have one for the tangs at my dads .
In fact i have 3 qt tanks of diferent sizes just incase .

never used one but i'm on the look out to buy one since losing all my fish but 2....350quids worth down the drain....stupid power cut...Got to the point to jack in completely if i could get a decent price for the setup i'd sell up...

I never bothered till I got the red spot blennie that died and decimated my stock.

Will always do so now. Particularly as not many lfs actually quarantine stock themselves.

Is there not a "sometimes" option? I sometimes (read very rarely) QT stock, particularly if it's a fussy feeder of a disease magnet, but usually I don't. I probably should do though, as not QT'ing is like playing Russian Roulette. Nobody wins the game, some people just get to play longer than others

i dont use a quarantine tank for a few reasons ,1 i dont buy many fish ,2 IMHO unless you are buying a lot of fish keeping a quarantine tank stable is not feasible , 3 i once read a thread by a member on RC who placed a healthy looking tang in a quarantine tank for 4 weeks no problems,,,, then he removed it to his main tank 2 days latter white spot ,,then came a flood of members with similar experience's ,its only my opinion but no amount of quarantine will stop a fish getting stressed when added to a tank with established fish,
