Hi,

Been running my first fish tank for 6 months now, so here are a few photo's of the current look.

First few photos show overall tank shots and equipment:-

Image

Lighting:-

2x Aquaray 500'S - Reef Blue, 2xAquaray 500's - Marine Blue, 4 x HD 1000 Aquabeam Tiles

Image

Sump:-

First compartment running Deltec AP600, with filter floss
Second compartment - live rock, chaeto
Third compartment - carbon, filter with rowaphos
Forth compartment - Ehiem 1262 return pump, live rock, tunze auto top-up.

Sump lit 24hrs with Marine White LED.

A few shots under the Aquaray Reef blues, these come on 30 mins before the Marine Blues followed by the Marine White Tiles 30 mins later. (Only just got the Reef Blues via a swap, i have to say i think they are fantastic, really brings the colours out)

This is a Galaxia, currently recovering from bad placement in strong flow, quite difficult to place this one as the sweeper tenticles are around 8 inches long.

Looking good there

one thing I have been looking into is go from MH to LED and it's nice to see a tank of similar size to mine that has them and is looking good

Thx guys.

I am hoping to try an SPS frag soon to see how it copes with the light from the Tiles, just might need to raise my rockwork slightly.
I guess that will be the true test of how good they are.

Great setup. LED's produce nice light.

I reckon you will get away with with the SPS. A friend of mine recently installed some of the tiles. His SPS frag was not doing much prior to the tiles, but has started growing under the tiles.

Thx for comments. That is good news about the SPS under the tiles

Any recommendations for a my first SPS.

Once i get my Mag & Calc & Alk a little higher i want to get one in.

If it grows ok i may even decide to swap a few corals for a couple more SPS.

Just depends really on how much the Mag & Calc & Alk are used up.

Beautiful Tank.

For a first sps, look at Seratiopora hysterix or some of the plating montis. These require less light than the others, then if these cope, you can try others [thumbup.gif]

Thx TigerIssey, I think i will try some plating monti for my first attempt.

Just need to get a phosphate ractor running first also.

A couple more piccy's under reef blues- this time my Midas Blenny, colour change on this fish is amazing between lights on / lights off.
