Tunze silence 3000 ,had it 15 months never missed a beat ,silent and only uses 40w of power.

When i had my 5x2x2 i had a 6500 Red Dragon return pump and as all RD pumps it was whisper quiet but they are not cheap but if you need silence it costs money the new waveline sounds like it will be a nice quiet pump similar to the RD ones. chris

Went for a eheim compact + 5000 in the end.... Much quieter.

I have a 34x18x18 tank and I'm running the Eheim 3000+ Compact. Fantastic pump , 1st one I had was very noisy and so my LFS replaced it. This one has been completely silent , extremely easy to get spares etc for them also.
