Well I finally got my hands salty 10 days ago after a lot of browsing on here for ideas, tips and general advice since April. Kept tropicals before we moved recently but always had the desire to go salty [011.gif]

Got the Boyu from a reefer on here who had upgraded. 10kg of live rock from another reefer closing down with the remaining 8kg of rock and rubble from KKC in Hull. Coral sand used as substrate.

All the tanks "Guts" were missing so first 2 chambers are filled with Live rock rubble. I have also connected a Fluval 105 for some additional filtration and connected a TMC Vecton Nano UV to the return feed. Third chamber has a new heater in and 4th has return pump which is the stock 750lph maxi-jet, accompanied by a Koralia Nano in the tank. I know I need to uprate the flow but deciding what to use is mind boggling [002.gif]

Took a few shots this morning with the tank cycling at 10 days old. Got a bit of browning to the sand but nothing much else happening algae wise.

Not completed any water tests yet but fully intend to do some this weekend, at 2 weeks, with a 20% water change [013.gif] If all is well I will then add a few critters to get things going [001_smile.gif]

No real tank thread here as we only located the usb lead for the camera at the weekend in one of the many boxes we still have unpacked [011.gif] .

Very nice Paul, I saw a similar tank in my LFS today & it looked great, had a pair of clowns in it....
Nice to see a pistol & goby pairing in a tank that size too

Thinking of keeping it simple with a couple of clowns and possibly a goby, pajama cardinal and a collection of critters. I would love a Mandarin but I think it may be too much for me so soon [sad.gif] I am not entirely sure if I'm right on the stocking level of 1" per gallon but I am sure someone on here will kindly set me on the right direction [thumbup1.gif]

I want to keep it within its stocking limits and not over do it as an over enthusiastic first timer [w00t.gif]

wondered where my koralia nano went, forgot i left it in that tank as i never got a chance to clean it . looks like you've done a great job.

will be following closely, it will be very interesting to see how the same tank takes shape in different hands.

Got it cleaned quickly enough but being a tight git I shopped around for the hardware etc [011.gif]

only thing with yours, it looks like you've got a lot of natural light so the glass might need cleaning a lot.

Just catches the sun for an hour or so in the morning (North facing window) but if it does get too much I can move it to the other side of the room [013.gif]

Sympathise with the coral dilema as I reckon it will cost a few bob just to frag this baby out [011.gif]

Asked for an ID of this and got a couple of answers but can't find an orange striped one anywhere on the web [confused1.gif]
