    Cool My 12gal DD nanocube

It's time for the official diary

I picked the tank up yesterday from Aquacadabra in Bexleyheath and am just about to set up and get it running

It's a lovely little DD nanocube and since regretting the sale of my old 24 gal version a few years ago, I have been on the lookout for a new one of these but they have been like hens teeth or rocking horse poop
I am glad to have found and a brand new unused one at that, and am off with the camera now to get it all set up.

Watch this space as a new story is beginning

    First piccies

    Tank and all the gubbins

    I am chucking this lot

the two little leds - I doubt I'll use them as I can't time them individually and will fit some led strips inside the lighting housing

    20000K of pc lighting

handy access flap and the display sand (thrown away)

The tank is now in the bath for half an hour participating in a leak test and then it's onwards with filling with new salt water and sand

Ah thank you Lolly7! I am glad you've enjoyed my tank threads I enjoy creating them, even if people don't comment very much. It's nice for me to look back through them.

I am not sure how much I am going to need to modify this little beaut yet, but I turned it on and the fans are virtually silent! They are so quiet I thought they weren't working, but they are

Adrian...no room for a mushroom garden sadly

Well, leak test was successful and leak free so I cracked on and this is where I am at the moment...

The pump is pretty darned quiet too so am happy about that. I remember my 24 gal cube pump being incredibly noisy at first

The tank is clearing nicely, but I need to get some more floss as I can't find the bag of it that I had anywhere *doh*

I've set my chambers up with chaeto (unlit as yet) in a pop sock for now until I get my floss on the way home tomorrow, c2 has the heater in and sachets of carbon and Purigen and the final chamber has the pump in. I am going to try out different types of chemical filtration as the tank matures and see what suits it best.

Just going to let the tank settle and then play scientist for a while just to make sure the tank hasn't undergone a mini cycle or such.
Then I have the challenging task of trying to get the mini maxis off their rocks and into the tank. Then I have the even more challenging task of catching all the sexy and anemone shrimp and getting them in the tank too

    This will all be documented

    Anywhere I can fit them

I have shut down the ex cuttlefish Edge so the nanocube has gone onto the dining room table. I will also be shutting down the other Edge as well so I feel a bit happier that I have condensed two running tanks into one

For the rrecord, I have my Osaka, congo puffer and red eye striped puffer tanks in the front room, the fancy goldfish, figure 8 puffers, marine vision, edge and this nanocube in the dining room, a small community tank in the bedroom and my lone dwarf puffer tank in the kitchen.

    Obssessed much?
